Molecular Toxicology
Molecular toxicology is a field concerned with the effects of various chemical components on living organisms. Careers in molecular toxicology can include the applied fields of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, as well as academic research. Molecular toxicology involves studying biophysics and biochemistry heavily as well as applying the knowledge in laboratory and environmental settings. Programs in the field of molecular toxicology study the effects of chemicals on living microscopic organisms. This form of toxicology examines both naturally occurring and synthetic chemicals. Also considered are the effects of genetic, physiologic and environmental factors on organisms.
